The intelligence agency of Pakistan kept Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali in a thousand years under strict surveillance almost at every stage of his 23-year long struggle from autonomy to sovereignty, from sovereignty to the independence. মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা, আধুনিক বাংলাদেশে সবচেয়ে বড় নাম, ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশের রূপকার, জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের সুযোগ্য কন্যা। ১৯৯৬, ২০০৮, ২০১৪ এবং সর্বশেষ ২০১৯ সালের জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে জয়লাভের মাধ্যমে চতুর্থবারের মতো বাংলাদেশের প্রধানমন্ত্রী হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করছেন এই প্রজন্মান্তরের ঝানু রাজনীতিবিদ। তার দূরদৃষ্টি এবং দক্ষ নেতৃত্বে বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগ সংসদে একক সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠতা নিয়ে বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে বড় এবং সফলতম রাজনৈতিক দলে পরিণত হয়েছে। বিশ্বে নারী নেতৃত্বের রোল মডেলে পরিণত হওয়া শেখ হাসিনা ফোর্বস ম্যাগাজিনের ১০০ ক্ষমতাধর নারীর তালিকায় একাধিকবার অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়েছেন। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রভিত্তিক ‘ফরেন পলিসি’ ম্যাগাজিনের বৈশ্বিক ১০০ চিন্তাবিদের মাঝেও তিনি একজন। বোস্টন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, ওয়াসেদা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, অ্যবার্টয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সহ বিশ্বের অনেক নামীদামী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে সম্মানসূচক ডক্টরেট লাভ করেছেন। শেখ হাসিনার জন্ম ১৯৪৭ সালের ২৮ সেপ্টেম্বর গোপালগঞ্জ জেলার টুঙ্গিপাড়ায়। বাংলাদেশের প্রথম রাষ্ট্রপতি, জাতির জনক বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান এবং বঙ্গমাতা বেগম ফজিলাতুন্নেসার জ্যেষ্ঠ্য সন্তান শেখ হাসিনা টুঙ্গিপাড়াতেই প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা অর্জন করেন। পরবর্তীতে ঢাকার আজিমপুরে মাধ্যমিক ও উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক শিক্ষা সমাপ্ত করে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে স্নাতক সম্পন্ন করেন। ১৯৭৫ সালের ১৫ই আগস্ট জাতির পিতাকে নির্মমভাবে সপরিবারে হত্যা করা হলে নেতৃত্বশূন্য হয়ে পড়ে আওয়ামী লীগ। ১৯৮১ সালে দেশে ফিরে এই শূন্যতা পূরণ করেন শেখ হাসিনা। সেই থেকে আজ পর্যন্ত দলের হাল ধরে আছেন তিনি। শেখ হাসিনাকে নিয়ে লেখা বই এর মাঝে উল্লেখযোগ্য একটি বই হলো মিসরীয় সাংবাদিক মুহসীনের লেখা ‘শেখ হাসিনা: উপাখ্যান ও বাস্তবতা’। তিনি নিজেও বেশ কিছু বই লিখেছেন। শেখ হাসিনা এর বই সমূহ সমকালীন রাজনীতি, গণতন্ত্র, সংকট ও তার সমাধান ইত্যাদির প্রামাণ্য দলিলের মতো। শেখ হাসিনার বই ‘শেখ মুজিব আমার পিতা’ জাতির জনককে নিয়ে তার শ্রেষ্ঠ রচনা। এছাড়াও ‘নির্বাচিত প্রবন্ধ’, ‘বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় সংসদে বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান’, ‘বাংলাদেশে স্বৈরতন্ত্রের জন্ম’, ‘বিপণ্ণ গণতন্ত্র, লাঞ্ছিত মানবতা’ ইত্যাদি বই নিয়ে সমৃদ্ধ শেখ হাসিনা এর বই সমগ্র।
