হেলেন কাদের (Helen Kader)

Helen Quader was well known as a lyricist in Chittagong during the 1970's. Moreover, she is a versatile literary figure and poet. Helen did not spend a vast period of her life centering Dhaka. Perhaps for this reason she remained hidden the darkness of unfamiliarity for so many days. Having been the wife of an army officer, Lt Col Quazi M.A Quader, She had the opportunity of traveling remote areas of Pakistan and Bangladesh. This has enriched the storehouse of her experience. As a result of this, we find(in her writing) a different chapter of history that remained concealed in the light of darkness. The history that no one knows, nor does anyone know the history about the captive live of the stranded soldiers in pakistan in 1971 who took dangerous risks in war. The wife of a warrior Helen Quader has disclosed to people those great true incidents that remained out of the public eye and thus she has given a place in the page of history as evidence. There is no denying that Helen's pen has highly inspired the readers with its lucidity. It's sure that this exquisite history will be gone through by the readers in just one sitting. Helen Quder was born on 29 september 1953 in a respectable Muslim family at the legendary Bikrampur, on the outskirts of Dhaka. Her father having served in the railway, her school and college life was spent in Chittagong. Helen had her schooling at the famous Dr. Khastogir Girls' High School and later studied in Chittagong Girls' College. Helen is the mother of one son and two daughters. Many of her writings were published in different newspapers and magazines. The second book of the author is 'Parabhuto Rog O Ami (Defeated Diseases and I)' which is replete with different cantonments of Bangladesh, many unknown facts about Chittagong Hill Tracts and description of natural beauty.
