Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka provides challenging and innovative teaching in development studies, a rapidly growing area of study concerned with people, the economy, and society. This study area fosters high-quality research on the problems of developing countries, particularly Bangladesh. The department has grown rapidly, establishing itself as a unique institution of excellence with a national and international reputation. It offers seven programmes, including the Undergraduate Programme, Master of Development Studies (MDS), MDS for Bangladesh Bank Officials, MPhil, PhD, and Certificate Programme in Development Studies.
